What are the roles and uses of air compressors?
The role of an air compressor is mainly to provide the gas needed in the production process. It has a wide range of uses, including: traditional air power, replacing bobbins in the textile industry, mixing slurry in the food and pharmaceutical industries, ventilation gas for mines, air blasting, wind tunnel experiments, metal smelting, and inflating tires, etc.
When it comes to air compressor, many people should not know it well, but it is an indispensable equipment in the production and manufacturing industry. The air compressor is actually a machine that conveys gas and increases gas pressure, and its structure is similar to that of a water pump.So what is the role and use of air compressors?
1.The role and use of air compressor
The role of an air compressor is to provide the gas needed in the production process. It has a wide range of uses, the more common ones are.
(1) As air power, such as wind tools, pneumatic wrenches, wind picks.
(2), in the textile industry to replace the role of the bobbin.
(3), used for bottling or pipeline gas transportation, such as the remote transmission of natural gas, chlorine or carbon dioxide bottling.
(4), Used for synthesis or polymerization of gas in chemical industry, such as synthesis of methanol, synthesis of urea, production of polyethylene.
(5), wind tunnel experiments, mine ventilation and air exchange, metal smelting.
(6), air blasting, shipwreck salvage, tire inflation.
(7), military, such as the launch of missiles, the launch of fish, etc.
2.Types of air compressors
(1) There are three kinds of compressors: power type, thermal type and volumetric type, which are divided according to their working principles.
(2) According to the performance, they can be divided into low-noise, variable frequency, explosion-proof and other types of compressors.
(3) In terms of lubrication, there are two kinds of oil-free compressors and oil compressors.

3.air compressor use precautions
(1) The location of the compressor should be far from the place where the steam is diffuse and dusty, and a filter should be installed at the location of the air inlet pipe.
(2) The external storage tank should be kept clean, and welding or hot processing operations are strictly prohibited in its vicinity. Water pressure test of the storage tank, air pressure gauge and safety valve inspection should be done once a year, and the test pressure should be 1.5 times of the working pressure.
(3), the air compressor operator must be specially trained, to fully understand the construction, performance and operation and maintenance procedures of the air compressor.
(4) It is strictly forbidden to operate after drinking, not to leave the post without permission or do things not related to operation, and not to replace the operator without permission.
(5) Before turning on the air compressor, make sure that all valves of the storage tank are open.
